Scorpions Hand New Orleans 5-2 Loss

Death Valley left-hander Always A. Bummus pitched his team to victory over the New Orleans Rougarous at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Ray Xavier, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 17th save. Death Valley is now 63-44, 2½ games up in the Champions Conference West.
Death Valley got a big at-bat from Gräfenroda, Germany native Lawn Gnomes, who in the bottom of the third hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 40th double of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 4-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Gnomes said after the game.
