Cortez Pops Two Homers in 11-7 Win for Cancun
Cancun took on Death Valley in front of a lively crowd.

The Cancun Toros trumped the Death Valley Scorpions, 11-7, at Cari Price Memorial Stadium. Cancun first baseman Victor Cortez was terrific. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Cancun is now 16-7, while Death Valley is 8-15.

Cancun grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Cortez hit a 3-run home run off Cy Duck. His 9th home run of the season put the Toros out in front, 7-4.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Cortez.
