Almost There: Louisville On Cusp of World Series Triumph After 9-3 Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of catcher Gab Zoo, the Louisville Lemurs got a road win against the Brew City Bears, 9-3, in Game 4 of the World Series. Zoo went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Lemurs, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Louisville used a well-timed hit by Wet Sock to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lemurs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Sock said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House in Providence.
