Reeves Blasts Voyagers, Scorpions Take Game 1, 14-5
The Death Valley Scorpions started the World Series in style, winning on the road against the New York Voyagers at Vaughn's House by a score of 14-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Scorpions second baseman Bass Reeves excelled. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4.

Death Valley used the hitting of Launch Angle to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Scorpions on top, 3-0. For the game, Angle had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

"It's on me," said Voyagers manager . "The guys I sent out there today were the wrong ones for the situation. I'll be sure to send the right ones out next time."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vaughn's House in Providence.
