Aviators Rally Late to Nip Surge
The Outer Banks Aviators racked up a win at The Island, bumping off the Buffalo Surge, 6-5, in 11 innings. Joseph Mathys Hendry, who started for Outer Banks, pitched effectively for his team. The third-place Aviators bumped their record to 23-17.

The Aviators got a clutch hit from third baseman Julio Ruiz Jr.. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Aviators.

"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Outer Banks manager .
