The New York Voyagers and Buffalo Surge provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Buffalo Surge overcame a pretty good performance by New York catcher Brian Payne, beating the Voyagers, 6-5, at The Power House. Payne was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Juicy Jumbo got the win, improving to 5-4. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Paj Bobba, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.

The Voyagers had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Surge going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old designated hitter Jackson Cheerios came to the plate. Cheerios hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from New York hurler Professor Croakwell. It was Cheerios's 8th home run of the year.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Cheerios.

Buffalo, at 20-27, holds down last place in the Legends Conference East.
