The Cancun Toros had to overcome a fine effort from Detroit pitcher Strider to grab a narrow 4-3 win at El Coliseo de los Toros. Strider went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. The win puts Cancun at 31-18 this season.

The Toros got a big at-bat from catcher Mengie Brolina. For the game, Brolina was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Cancun a 4-2 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Brolina said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
