|
Indianapolis turned a good effort from starter Maurice Bernard into a win over the New Orleans Rougarous at Full Moon Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Bernard, now 7-4, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Flop Quads was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 10 save opportunities.
The Apex got a big at-bat from right fielder Harry Callahan. For the game, Callahan went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Indianapolis a 3-2 lead.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Callahan.
With the win, Indianapolis has a record of 36-32. New Orleans falls to 25-43.
