Despite a fine performance by left fielder Biff Slamous, the Detroit Demons lost to the Buffalo Surge, 7-5. Slamous was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tim Westbrook recorded his 1st save for Buffalo. Buffalo is off to a hot start at 7-3.

The Surge got a big hit from left fielder D.W. Dogmaple. In the top of the sixth, Dogmaple pounded a 2-run double to right-center. His 3rd double of the season put the Surge ahead, 7-3.
